well, during the past week my wife and i have taken our first steps into buying our first home. we got pre approved from our bank for $305,000. i will keep you guys posted.
my wife has already started looking for homes and found a new construction in chesapeake that she really wants after seeing the blue prints and the builders recent homes.
this next home is not a new construction (1990), but it it still looks good. my wife was set on the first one but she is now going to look at this one with the realtor tomorrow.

sad news. the house pictured above was advertised at $289,000 but when my realtor called the seller they confirmed that it was a typo and the selling price is $389,000
congrats.....my wife and I looked at buying a house, but up here in Nova that is a no go. $275,000 - $389,000 will get you nothing. I wasn't looking to spend more than $215,000, very different market coming from Louisiana. Good luck with the hunt.
thats too far of a drive to and from work. the first house is what we are going to bid on this week. they are asking $299,000. we will be making some changes to it to suit our needs and wants. she looked at the lot on sunday out in the great bridge area. its in walking distance from a middle school my kids would be attending.
i found out that on a new construction you cant bid. you have to offer the asking price. so thats what we did and they accepted the offer of $299,000. my wife also asked for hardwood flooring in certain areas and a jetted tub and they said that wouldnt be a problem along with the $5,000 closing cost assistance
good **** pimp, me and my wife are still trying to make those steps. we are renting a house right now. hopefully i will be good by the end of the year or spring next year. congrats though homie. i can see you outside cutting the grass now ....lol
thank you all for the congrats. my wife will be taking progress pictures as the house is being built. i will start another thread so you guys can follow along until the .:R is parked in the garage. i talked to my realtor this morning and she said they started with the foundation today. the house should be completed in 6 months. perfect timing because my lease on my apt will expire then as well.

My wife had to sign a release last week. They wanted to make a more feasible kitchen floorplan. The new plans now have an island with a stove/oven attached
Here are the original floor plans. Keep in mind that the kitchen plans have been revised. My wife hasn't e-mailed it to met yet. I will post it up as soon as i get it.
